The owner and Managing Director of Nam Phuong Travel is Nguyen Nho An. An and the team are committed to maintaining and protecting the local environment; as well as supporting the socio-economic development of the local people. Knowing that change starts with the individual, the team itself look to decrease their carbon emissions though reducing electricity, water, fuel, printing paper and ink consumption. Where possible, they endeavour to use cleaner modes of transport (such as walking, bicycle and cyclo). They also take part in local ‘cleaning up the environment' initiatives encompassing the beaches, rivers, ancient towns and tourist destinations. They see the importance of continuing to plant trees to further this cause.
As part of this dedication, they are looking to introduce and promote sustainable tourism initiatives in their local community, primarily to hotel and accommodation providers so they too can make a difference. They want travellers to be involved in this process, and are looking to package tours that are coupled with sustainable activities, providing incentives to take part in these activities.
An's passion for travel and tourism is contagious. Not only does he enjoy travelling and discovering new places himself, he sees the value that tourism can bring; and if done the right way can contribute to the conservation of culture, traditional craft villages, and quality of life for local communities. From a business point of view, tourism gives him the opportunity to work with various partners around the world to increase tourism to Vietnam. But above all of this, he cherishes the opportunities to meet and get to know travellers from all corners of the globe.
An was born in Da Nang and graduated from the Economics University of HCMC with two Bachelors Degrees; one in Tourism and the other in Business Administration. After working as a tour operator for agencies including Saigon Tours, Samifana Indochina, and Exotissimo Travel, he decided to head back to Da Nang with the dream of setting up his own private company, which became Nam Phuong Travel. When not working, An can be found playing tennis or working the stock market. His local knowledge, his pledge to develop tourism whilst still protecting the culture and environment, and his desire to help travellers have the perfect holiday mean that Nam Phuong Travel are the perfect people to help you plan your holiday!
