"After having such wonderful stays in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat, and Ha Noi we were a little disappointed with the Thanh Noi Hotel in Hue. Our room was a little tired and in need of some freshening up, the linen and towels were quite old, even had a ripped sheet on the bed and had to ask for pillow cases. These things could have been overlooked as it was a lovely setting with our room opening out onto the gardens, the pool and the restaurant. The thing that we were most disappointed in was the staff. We did not find them nearly as friendly or helpful as the other places we stayed, and the breakfast was also disappointing with not much selection (eggs were on offer one day but not the other 2) and there were sandfly type insects flying around the cut fruit on the table, ran out of coffee and we were generally left to fend for ourselves.
They were starting to renovate the hotel which means the workmen started their machinery up at 6.45am in the room next door (no sleep in for us)
This hotel has got so much potential I hope they manage to get their act together because this could be fantastic place to stay.
Fortunately this didn't ruin our stay in Hue and we would return in a flash, but not to Thanh Noi Hotel."
